We call this "dwurazówka" in Wrocław. I can see that on such dutes older buses in Vilnius are used.
The same name ("dwurazówka") is used in Latvia, Riga. Here we mostly use "pertraukiamas" or "разрыв" (in Russian). But you are right - there are no buses which are built in 2003 or later which are regularly used on rush hour duties. Even if you see Volvo or new Solaris, this means that there are no other buses or it must get back to depot earlier (or during day break) for some maintenance or technical inspection. Now we have very bad condition of most buses and there are so many daily breakdowns that it seems to be even "better" than your famous Wałbrzych. We can even compete with it by other aspects (dumb schedules, absence bus loops...)
P.S. in addition: during 2 weeks in february, like 4-5 buses had fire and 2 of them very serious ones - they almost completely burned down.
