Newly-restored Peter Witt car #1893 would not normally be seen here, as the usual service is with modern, low-floor cars.

20 march 2011 - Car 2598 Torino Peter Witt of 1934 at Sassi terminal builder Officine Ferroviarie Moncenisio (FIAT) Torino (IT) – Sassi, Coriolano Capolinea. At the terminal loop near the start of the Sassi-Superga rack tramway, here is a quite fabulous Peter Witt tram of 1934, part of the Torino historic collection. Although invented in America, this type of passenger-flow tram was adopted by some Italian cities and many remain in use here in Torino (although heavily rebuilt) and in Milano.

Mimo swojego wieku wagony sprawują się idealnie, a pod względem komfortu jazdy pobijają wiele nowocześniejszych konstrukcji. Tylko czy zdążyły się one już zamortyzować? Frapuje mnie to pytanie od sierpnia... Z dedykacją dla tych, którzy twierdzą, że inwestycje w tramwaje nie opłacają się.

26 september 2010 - Turyn, Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Seria 2800 to jedyne pomarańczowe tramwaje w Turynie. Kolor pomarańczowy nierozerwalnie kojarzy mi się z tradycyjną włoską komunikacją miejską. W Turynie tych skojarzeń jest niewiele. Takie wozy jeździły tylko na 15.

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Quatre Bras. UITP 125 Years Anniversary - one amazing day. The furthest-travelled visitor was this typical Peter Witt car from ATM Milano, which ran with crush loads all day. Differences in wheel profiles and power collection arrangements (trolley pole, pantograph or bow collector) didn't seem to worry STIB, which even allowed the visiting trams to operate with their 'foreign' crews after a brief test run. In UK, the Health and Safety people would have gone mad.....

9 august 2009 - Milano, Via Giulio e Corrado Venini / Via Natale Battaglia. Mediolan w sierpniu sprawiał wrażenie wymarłego miasta - pozamykane sklepy, pustki w tramwajach i na ulicach. Przynajmniej auta nie psuły zdjęć - ale czasem znalezienie czynnego spożywczego było nie lada problemem :/

One of them is route 33 Sire Raul – Rimembranze di Lambrate that will be shortened as Stazione Centrale – Rimembranze di Lambrate. All tracks between Vitruvio and Sire Raul will loose a regular tram service, but they will not be abandoned as they are used to reach both the Officine Generali Teodosio (main workshops, on the right of this photo behind the tree line) and the Deposito (depot) Leoncavallo. However, Sire Raul reversing loop will become useless and no more trams will use it: scenes like this one will disappear very soon.

23 may 2008 - Mediolan, pętla Stazzione Centrale. Na pożegnanie z Mediolanem ostatnie spojrzenie na najbardziej charakterystyczny tramwaj. Zdjęcie robione dość partyzancko przy wykorzystaniu kosza na śmieci. Linia też ciekawa, 29/30 powinno w przybliżeniu dać 0,96667 ;-).

23 may 2008 - Mediolan, Piazzale Luigi Cadorna. Ten Peter Witt nie doczekał jeszcze modernizacji i zmiany barw, ale i tak bardzo dobrze się trzyma. Śmiesznie wygląda, jak taki wiekowy wagon podjeżdża na przystanek z nowoczesnym wyświetlaczem, podającym czas do odjazdu tramwaju.
